Disney Lorcana Shattered Souls Introduces Villain-Focused Mechanics
The new Corrupt keyword lets hero cards flip to villain versions in Ravensburger's most ambitious Lorcana design yet. Spring 2026 release confirmed.
Ravensburger has officially revealed Shattered Souls, the next Disney Lorcana expansion. The set leans heavily into Disney's villain roster, introducing a new "Corrupt" keyword that lets players flip hero characters to their villainous alternate versions.
The Corrupt mechanic gives Lorcana its most narratively ambitious design yet. Characters like Elsa, Simba, and Rapunzel receive dual-faced cards — their standard heroic version on one side, and a powered-up villain form on the other. Flipping requires specific conditions, creating interesting deckbuilding tension.
Lorcana's trajectory has been a Cinderella story (pun intended) for Ravensburger. After a rocky launch plagued by distribution issues, the game has stabilized into a consistent performer. Tournament attendance has grown quarter-over-quarter, and the collector market has matured with clear chase card tiers.
Shattered Souls is scheduled for a spring 2026 release. Pre-orders have already begun at major retailers, with the collector's edition booster boxes carrying a premium price point.
