Japan's M2 Inferno X expansion, releasing September 26, 2025, continues the generation's trend of escalating power levels. The set features several Pokemon ex cards that outclass their predecessors, raising concerns about power creep in the competitive format.

The set's headline cards include new forms of fan-favorite Pokemon rendered in the dynamic Inferno art style that gives the set its name. Preliminary card translations suggest at least two cards that will immediately slot into top-tier competitive decks.

From a collector's perspective, Inferno X carries the standard allotment of SR, AR, SAR, and MUR rarity tiers. The artwork quality continues the high standard set by recent Japanese releases.

English-language players can expect these cards to appear in a consolidated set in early 2026, likely alongside content from other Japanese releases.
