The Pokemon Company has revealed two companion MEGA Expansion Packs — Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia — set for release in Japan on August 1, 2025. The sets bring back the MEGA evolution mechanic in a new form, targeting both competitive players and nostalgia-driven collectors.

The MEGA designation represents the first return of Mega Evolution to the TCG since the XY era. Updated for modern game design, MEGA cards function differently than their predecessors but retain the visual grandeur that made the originals so popular as collectibles.

Early card translations by community member ToineLay reveal a robust set of trainers and supporters alongside the headlining MEGA Pokemon. The dual-set format ensures a wide card pool for competitive use.

These sets continue a pattern of rapid-fire Japanese releases that will eventually be consolidated into fewer English sets, a strategy that keeps the Japanese market engaged year-round.
