PSA Grading Turnaround Times Drop Below 60 Days for Standard Tier
Standard-tier submissions now return in under 60 days. PSA processes over 250,000 cards weekly as the industry moves past its pandemic-era backlog.
Professional Sports Authenticator has reduced standard-tier turnaround times to under 60 days, the fastest the service has operated since the pandemic-era grading boom began in 2020. The improvement signals a return to normalcy for the collectibles authentication industry.
At the peak of the backlog in 2021, standard submissions could take six months or longer. PSA's investment in automation technology and expanded staffing has steadily chipped away at wait times. The company now processes over 250,000 cards per week across all tiers.
The faster turnaround is good news for collectors and investors who rely on graded cards for secondary market transactions. Graded cards typically command a 2-5x premium over raw copies for high-demand singles.
Competitors CGC and Beckett have also improved their timelines, creating a more competitive authentication market. PSA's recently launched AI-assisted pre-screening tool, which provides preliminary grade estimates before submission, has been well-received by the community.
